Typhoon Class TK208
Project 941 Akula
Nuclear Powered Ballistic Missile Submarine
Réf : TM102
During the elaboration of this model, we tried hard to remain faithful to the original model both in its forms and in the realization of parts while staying within reasonable construction.
The aspect model of the kit can again be improved by adding miscellaneous plastic parts either by automating certain functions as the opening of trapdoors with missiles or the exit of communication mast and periscope.
To do it you will find on our Internet site a big number of photos of the life-size submarine, which will help you to polish up numerous parts
With its generous dimensions our submarine reproduces perfectly the characteristics of navigation as well in surface as in dive of the real model.

Mode of functioning of the submarine Typhoon:
The submarine mockup Typhoon is built on the same principle as the true submarine to know a hull of waterproof pressure containing the mechanics and the electronics and an outside hull. The principle of dive appeals to a pump with gearings which fills a waterproof ballast by increasing its internal pressure.
The completion of the ballast by increasing the mass of the submarine modifies the level of the waterline until the complete diving of the boat. It is then possible to realize dives while the boat and in the rest. When the submarine is in dive we have the possibility of maintaining the level of submersion by modifying gradually the completion of the ballast.
The submarine Typhoon is equipped with two engines, it is recommended to distinguish every command to return the more realistic operations.
The model is supplied with a mechanical mixing of the diving planes and the rudder to reduce the beam of the bends. In the same purpose, the diving planes were slightly enlarged.
